CID 2019 AWARD CEREMONY

The award ceremony for the “CID 2019”. Italian Distance Championship was held this afternoon at Voghera-Rivanazzano Airport during the National Gliding Meeting 2019. The pilot Alex Busca, a member of our aero club, was named Italian Vice Champion in the top class (“Open”), behind the first-rate pilot Alberto Sironi from Varese and ahead of the immense Giorgio Galetto from Bolzano. He also received recognition for the second-best flight of the year, again behind Alberto Sironi, for his performance on 13 July 2019 when he flew for an incredible 1.099,44 km at an average speed of 112.59 km/h.
Busca also took first place in the “OLC Italia 2019”, ranking, the online platform that records all the distance flights carried out by registered pilots. The ranking is calculated by summing the scores of the six best flights completed throughout the year.
