The traditional “GLIDERS IN THE PIAZZA” event will be held from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday 25 August 2019 in Piazza Chanoux, Aosta.
The event is organised by Aero Club Valle d’Aosta in collaboration with the Fédération des Aéro Clubs de la Vallée.
The event will be repeated on Sunday 1 September in Piazzale Cravetto, Verrès, from 11.00am to 5.00pm.
The gliders on display will be accessible to visitors, who will have the opportunity to look at and touch the tapered shapes of these fantastic tools of human ingenuity that can transform a clumsy biped into a bird. They will be able to experience the thrill of sitting inside the cockpit, trying out the controls, understanding how they work and learning how to interpret the information provided by the flight instruments.
Instructors, pilots and pupils from the Aero Club Valle d’Aosta flight school will be on hand to explain in detail to the public how the various phases of flight work, from takeoff to landing.
Throughout the day, visitors can request information on courses and the flying school, chat with pilots, and listen to tales of flying as well as the impressions and feelings of pupils taking their first steps in the world of gliding. To become a pilot, you do not need to be particularly rich or especially gifted. The requirements are very similar to those of most sporting activities: good health, curiosity, commitment and passion.
We’ll see you all there!
Flying is beautiful in the magnificent Aosta Valley
